A publication devoted to the work of Julian
Fałat. This eminent painter and reformer of art education lived
and created in Bystra, not far from Bielsko-Biała. Today a museum
devoted to the artist is located here. The album presents works
from its collections. Jerzy Madeyski's introduction acquaints
the reader with the artis's unusual life and personality. The
book design effectively presents the works, and the high-quality
printing lets the reader catch the smallest brush strokes, appreciate
the texture of the picture surface, and submit to the rare beauty
of this art.
"Buffi Press of Bielsko-Biała has
honored the painter with an edition embracing Poland's largest
collection of his works, from the museum in Bielsko-Biała. The
promotion of this album, organized in Fałat's former home, gave
a good start to the events prepared on the 150th birthday of the
virtuoso of the winter landscape."
