The album presents the very charming small town of Kęty and
its picturesque surroundings. It is situated at the foot of the
Beskidy Mountains, in the Soła River valley, set among ponds
and forests. The town's interesting and diverse architecture
ranges from historic wooden buildings to restored townhouses
adorned with stucco work, a multitude of fine churches and monasteries,
and contemporary buildings. Exceptional photos convey the atmosphere
of the places depicted, and Marek Nycz's introduction joins history
to the present day. The publication is an example of how local
tradition and regional roots are cultivated.
"People from Kęty do enjoy returning. Many of those who have
gone away visit their hometown as Grabowski did. Each time they
do, they note the changes that are always taking place here.
And those who live here year-round take pleasure in showing visitors
the new faces of Kęty. Resident and returnee alike, we like to
compare our memories with the here and now, with what we are
creating in our town together."
Marek Nycz
