This unusual book combines the visual artist's and the poet's
ways of looking at the world. It is a photographic narrative of
the beauty of the Polish forest, complemented by fragments of
poetry and prose by the most eminent Polish writers, including
Nobel prizewinners, and by an interesting foreword written by
Professor Jacek Woźniakowski. In 1997 it took honors in the Polish
Association of Book Publishers Competition for Most Beautiful
Books of the Year, and it was judged the best-looking new book
by Gazeta Wyborcza.
"An album of ascetic simplicity, of very refined typography
completely subordinated to the pictures (text in three languages,
consisting of there harmoniously chosen type sizes). The cover
, the binding, end papers and type are in green suiting the subject.
According to the jury it is simply the book you can buy instead
of taking a vacation."
